Head of Products and Services, DME
In her current role, Michelle is responsible for the planning and implementation of DME’s business strategy, including increasing trading volume, facilitating distribution of DME Oman-linked Contracts and further expanding the company's presence in Asia Pacific. She heads the Asian operations for DME out of the Singapore office and she joined DME in March 2013.
Michelle’s experience with commodities and derivatives spans more than six years and in one of the most important global trading centers – Singapore. Prior to joining DME, she was the Senior Manager of Metals Products at the CME Group, where she was responsible for knowledge acquisition and expansion of the customer base in metals products, for customer education about the benefits of COMEX/NYMEX products to risk managers and traders, and for speaking at key ferrous industry events to introduce the CME Group to the metals industry. She also worked with various Directors of Energy and Metals in major Asian markets, New York and London to formulate and execute business development plans for Asia-specific clients.
Senior Director, Head of Energy Products (Asia Pacific), CME Group
Nicolas Dupuis serves as Senior Director, Energy Products, Asia Pacific, for CME Group. He is responsible for leading the firm’s energy business throughout the Asia Pacific region, including strategy, marketing and distribution of futures and options on CME Globex®, the exchange's electronic trading platform, as well as the company’s OTC energy clearing services through CME ClearPort. He also works closely with Dubai Mercantile Exchange, CME Group’s strategic partner, to cross promote products and services.
Prior to joining the company in September 2016, Dupuis was Head of Energy Derivatives Desk Asia Pacific at Societe Generale, where he was responsible for sales, trading, and clearing brokers’ activities. Before that, Dupuis worked in various roles across trading, deal structuring and sales with Total and Societe Generale.
Dupuis holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from INSA Lyon, and Masters in Technology Management from EM Lyon. S
Executive Director -- Senior Economist at CME Group
Erik Norland is Executive Director and Senior Economist of CME Group. He is responsible for generating economic analysis on global financial markets by identifying emerging trends, evaluating economic factors and forecasting their impact on CME Group and the company’s business strategy, and upon those who trade in its various markets. He is also one of CME Group’s spokespeople on global economic, financial and geopolitical conditions.
Prior to joining CME Group, Norland gained more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry working for investment banks and hedge funds both in the United States and in France. He most recently served in sales and research at BEAM Bayesian Efficient Asset Management LLC, and previously as Director of Research at EQA Partners, both global macro hedge funds. He also worked for IXIS Corporate & Investment Bank in Paris (now called Natixis), covering central banks and supranationals for the fixed income sales business, and also worked as a market economist and strategist. He began his career at Bankers Trust, Global Investment Management in New York working with the tactical asset allocation group.
Norland holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and an M.A.in statistics from Columbia University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Senior Analyst Commodities, Refinitiv
Royston joined Refinitiv in 2012 and currently focuses on the fuel oil markets in Asia, handling both its flows-tracking into East of Suez, and its pricing assessments. Previously in the company he handled cross-barrel oil swaps pricing and designed the initial crude oil flows database from the bottom up. Outside of Refinitiv, he has over five years of direct risk management experience for oil trading/FI trading activities, with a holistic understanding of market/credit/operational risks.
