Jeremy Ang - CEO, Straits Financial Group
Mr. Ang has been the CEO of the Straits Financial Group since its inception. He has more than 30 years of experience working in the financial industry in Asia and his experience has been pivotal to the firm’s humble successes. In the past, he served as Managing Director at DBS Vickers Securities (Singapore), Executive Vice President at Refco Group and held dual-position as Executive Director of Commodities at Singapore Exchange (SGX) and CEO of Singapore Commodity Exchange (SICOM).
Roger Quek – Managing Director, Straits Financial Services
Mr. Quek is currently the Chief Executive Officer for Straits Financial Services Pte Ltd, where he spearheads the group’s derivatives trading, global broking and integrated financial solution businesses. With over 25 years of experience in derivatives, commodities markets and financial services, Mr. Quek has established Straits as a strong trading network and ecosystem, allowing clients with quick-to-market and round-the-clock risk mitigation and trading solutions across global derivatives markets. Prior to Straits, Mr. Quek was the Executive Vice President and Asia Co-Head for Marex Spectron Asia Pte Ltd, the Executive Director and Head of Global Commodities and Energy China International Capital Corporation.
Wang Cheng – Country Head, Straits Commodity Merchant
Wang Cheng has more than 15 years of international working experience in the Commodities sector, within China and in Singapore. Notably, he joined the Refco Group and was the Shanghai Representative from 2004 to 2006, marketing derivatives in China. He joined DBS Vickers, in Singapore and helped the company enter the Chinese market with OTC products. Wang Cheng then joined SICOM/SGX in 2009 and was responsible for marketing SGX derivatives in North Asia. He was instrumental in the design and development of the OTC Chinese Rubber contracts delivered in Qingdao warehouses. Wang Cheng was the General Manager of Investment Department for Hainan Natural Rubber Industrial Group (largest rubber trading company in China) and is well connected in the rubber industry. Wang Cheng now heads the China office for Straits Financial, and is widely regarded and well respected within the Chinese commodities industry.
Sherraine He – SVP, Straits (Singapore)
Sherraine oversees the trade services desk and is in charge of driving physical trading activities and structured commodity solutions for Straits Financial Group. Prior to that, Sherraine was a Manager within the Commodities Product Development and Management team at Singapore Exchange. She also spent 3 years with International Enterprise Singapore ‘s (IES) China Strategic Relations desk, and subsequently moved on to the Offshore Trading Group to promote the Global Trader Program for 2.5 years, a tax incentive program to attract global commodity trading companies to set up trading offices in Singapore.
